Chet explores the settlement where Stephen F. Austin laid the foundation for modern Texas. He eats at a local meat market making over a dozen types of sausage, interviews a baker who lives in a stone castle, and learns the art of blacksmithing with a local “cowboy.”

Chet explores one of Texas’s most beautiful and primitive parks. He hikes to scenic overlooks, dives to the bottom of caves, swims in the spring-fed pools, and fishes the flowing river. Finish it up with BBQ at a local general store and it’s a great trip.

Chet heads to East Texas where he visits a town named after the hero of the Alamo. He visits the springs where Davy drank and explores the National Forest named in his honor. He strolls the Spanish “El Camino Real” and stands in awe of ancient Indian mounds.

Chet heads to the suburb town that stuck in Austin’s shadow to showcase its many hidden treasures. He eats artisan BBQ sandwiches and Ethiopian food. He tries his hand at BMX racing. And visits an award-winning distillery located in an metal shed.

Chet visits this DFW town and feels the draw of the lake where he takes a sailing lesson. He investigates the mystery of how “Rockwall” got its name, and shows people that while this town has a rich reputation, it still have plenty for the common man to do, including par-3 golf and homemade burgers.

Chet heads to the Rio Grande Valley to partake in a true Texas-meets-Mexico experience complete with traditional cow-head barbacoa, border birding, and the historic site of the first battle of the Mexican-American war.

Chet heads to “Garner Country” to explore the legacy of US Vice President John Nance Garner. He eats some South Texas sweetbread gorditas and drives real WW2 army tanks.

Chet heads to one of the fastest growing cities in America. He plays at the National Video Game Museum, visits the headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys, and dines on both traditional cowboy breakfast and cutting-edge sushi.

Chet heads to the heart of the oil boom, exploring the Permian Basin’s long history with black gold. He discovers the quaint boyhood home of President George W. Bush and eats Iraqi food with some Texas hospitality.

Chet discovers that there’s more to this “roughneck” town than meets the eye. He traverses the second largest meteor crater in America and visits recreations of Stonehenge and Shakespeare’s Globe Theater. He finishes up with some true “Friday Night Lights” football.

Chet visits the South Texas wetlands to climb lighthouses, fish the bays, and eat fresh seafood. He discovers the long history of this coastal town and the many generations who’ve lived there.

Chet explores one of the oldest towns in Texas named after a Tejano hero of the Texas revolution. He spends time on the Guadalupe River and visits the 3 largest pecans in the world! He finishes the night hunting for ghosts in the old Magnolia Hotel.

Chet lets the viewers decide where he should day trip. There’s guaranteed to be good food, good history, and lots of unexpected adventures on the road.
