Arthur gets Terry to guard a racehorse before he runs in a big race, but the owner and trainer are out to con the bookies and leave them out in the cold.

When an old friend of Arthur's gets injured in a so-called "hit and run accident" Terry gets involved in minding the villain's antique shop.

Terry guards a group of people that Maurice the gambler has put together to win at roulette. When the casino starts to protest, he hides them out at his flat, but this upsets his girlfriend Penny, who has taken the week off to be with him.

Terry trains Willie a boxer on the comeback trail, but it becomes apparent that he is not taking the fight seriously. The promoter wants Willie to lose and has had a large bet on the other boxer. Terry shames Willie into training properly but the outcome is in the balance right up to the last round.

An old friend of Terry's has left her son at his house, while she sorts her life out. Terry gets attached to the lad, but then the stepfather starts to cause trouble...
