Sidney and Geordie investigate when a man is stabbed during a talk by a Civil Rights activist, sparking racial tensions.

Sidney discovers he was the last person to see a woman alive during a drunken night while Geordie becomes increasingly alarmed at his friend's behaviour.

Geordie is called to investigate an apparent break-in at a computer laboratory. When the head of the lab keels over and dies from mercury poisoning, Geordie suspects foul play.

As Will is preparing to be installed as the new vicar Geordie persuades him to involve himself in a case involving a young uncommunicative boy with blood on his hands.

An unexpected phone call summons Will back home, and he asks Geordie for his help: Will’s father has got himself into some trouble. When one vicious beating leads to a grisly murder at a sprawling ancestral home, scandal threatens to engulf the Davenport Family, and life will never be the same for Will again.
