Home cooks from across the country audition for a spot in the top 12.

The top 12 face their first Mystery Box Challenge and a budget-inspired elimination challenge sends one of the home cooks packing.

The home cooks face their first team challenge as they prepare a hearty meal for 101 hungry Habitat for Humanity volunteers.

The top 10 are given a mere 30 minutes to tackle a mystery box and must create an original recipe featuring fresh ingredients. Then, a fungi-inspired elimination challenge puts an end to one home cook's food dream.

A Team Challenge finds the home cooks tasked with making donuts for dog owners who frequent an off-leash dog park in Toronto. The losing team must face a Pressure Test, resulting in at least one home cook being eliminated.

The remaining top 8 home cooks face an intense series of three consecutive French-inspired pressure tests that will reveal their strengths, skills and weaknesses.

Eight MasterChef Canada home cooks – the remaining seven plus the home cook that emerges as the Redemption winner – gather for an off-site Team Challenge in Kleinburg, Ont., at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, home to the iconic Group of Seven. The teams are tasked with preparing a tasting menu for seven esteemed recipients of the Order of Canada, including Marc Kielburger, co-founder of international youth charity Free The Children; and renowned Canadian television icon, CTV News Special Correspondent Lloyd Robertson. After consulting the distinguished dinner guests, the MasterChef Canada Judges determine the winning team. The losing home cooks face a Pressure Test, and potential elimination.

The home cooks are presented with a massive Mystery Box Challenge and must prepare a diner dish inspired by the cast of Corner Gas Animated.

The Top 6 home cooks face a super-charged Restaurant Takeover Team Challenge with the losing team facing an Elimination Challenge.

The pressure intensifies as former MasterChef Canada winners drop by for a surprise visit.

The remaining three cooks face the first ever Pop-Up Restaurant Challenge.

The Top 2 home cooks vie for the title of “MasterChef Canada” Season 5 and the reward of $100,000 in prize money to launch their culinary dreams.
