After an extensive nationwide search 33 girls from all over the country were invited to Queenstown to appear in the premiere episode of New Zealand’s Next Top Model. The novice models were expected to strut their stuff in front of a very special guest, put their best foot forward in a gruelling audition, and take part in a physically challenging photo shoot. It didn’t take long for the drama to unfold, with one girl suffering a health crisis, while another found herself the centre of attention – for all the wrong reasons. And after all that, only 13 were invited to move into the Top Model house in Auckland, in the hope of becoming New Zealand’s Next Top Model.

13 girls re-locate from Queenstown to the Top Model house in Auckland. Their first lesson reveals one real contender... and a suprise winner at the very first challenge causes controversy right from the get-go. The models' inaugural photo shoot has them aiming high - but one eager contestant crash lands and the judges send her packing.

There are tears aplenty when Sara, Colin and Chris enlist the help of legendary hair stylist Paul Serville to bring out the best in the 11 remaining girls. Plus - the models face a runway challenge with a difference and their first full-on fantasy photo shoot.

After last week's elimination, 10 girls remain in the Top Model house. A few home truths are revealed when the models receive a surprise visitor, which leaves one contender feeling very isolated.

Tongues wag over a steamy photo-shoot and the green-eyed monster makes an appearance when one model gets singled out for special attention
